The Profencing Summer Day Camp is a great chance for kids to combine mornings of entertaining educational activities with afternoons engaged in the exciting, fast-paced sport of modern fencing.
Many kids like to go to day camps because they meet new friends, play fun games, and get to be messy and creative. Does this sound like you? A usual camp day at PROFENCING will include warm-up activities, fencing instruction, fencing-themed crafts or games, snacks, and much more!
You will meet kids just like you who want to have adventures and learn new stuff. Still not sure? Come by and visit with us before your camp starts—we'll show you around so you know just what it's all about!
Parents: Our day camps are taught by professional fencing instructors and assistants who have been certified by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. They have been fencing and teaching for many years, and have worked with kids of all ages and abilities. Our goal is for kids to have fun learning a new sport in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that fencing is a lifetime sport, and that your child can be healthy throughout his or her lifetime by staying active in sports that he or she genuinely enjoys.
Our sessions are carefully design keeping in mind age and level of experience. For this reason we have sessions from the introduction level to more advance beginning levels. Instruction will be age-appropriate, and will focus on form over competitiveness during Session I and II. Session III will be more focused on drills and competitions. You can select the session (one or more) that you consider the best fit for your child.
Profencing offers 4 Levels of fencing camps: Intro level, Beginning Level , Intermediate Level and Advance Competitive Level. Half day and Full day camps are also available.
Our Little Musketeers camps are for boys and girls 7-10 years old. Some Musketeers may only want to come for half a day, during which they learn how to fence, play fencing games, and have a snack. Besides learning to fence and playing specific fencing games, they will also engage in light conditioning exercises, running , jumping, push up , etc., the basic conditioning for any sport and staying fit. This is a great option for our youngest fencers who aren't quite ready for a full day of fencing. They still get to experience all the great activities of the full-day camps, but with more time to recover!
It is a more advance session for students with some fencing experience and/or for students who completed the beginning and intermedate level. We focus more on conditioning, longer fencing drills, bouting, more complex actions use during regular bouting and competitions. We go more in-depth in our study of fencing, and we incorporate video analisys, more history, tactics, and games into the extra hours. Also students learn how to prepare for competitions and plan their training program for the season. The more you fence, the better you get! Students participate in an small open competition on the last day of the camp and every one will be awarded certificates and medals will be given to the top 8
